Post Zero: Origins

M. Deanpool is an amateur comic collector and an avid comic reader. And he told me to add “superhero” to that list. I am M. Deanpool’s personal blog writer who will be using this blog as a place to put the millions of thoughts and opinions that run through his head that I believe everyone should be able to read. Mr. Deanpool (I may refer to him as both Mr. Deanpool due to my professional nature) is constantly reading comics (he says it’s his superpower) in his endless efforts to study superheroes and villains alike to be prepared for when it will be his time to step into the limelight and fulfill his superhero destiny. Or save the world. Or something like that. It must be a superpower to be able to read so many comics and still remain sane. Then again, who says he’s sane. Let’s move on.

So just a quick bio on M. Deanpool, he’s only been collecting for about a year now, though his collection is going up in the 600s already. His comics can be dated as far back as the Silver Age (mid 1950s- 1970s) and Bronze Age (1970s- mid 1980s), and also contains more modern comics from recent years. As someone who loves collecting and reading as much as M. Deanpool, it’s only natural to have so many things to say or comment on. Mr. Deanpool predominanty reads DC and Marvel comics, but is open to all types including Image Comics like Walking Dead.

In M. Deanpool’s Comic-Cave, you can expect some cool comics, fun facts, reviews, and whatever else I can think of to keep things interesting. The Comic-Cave will have comics, graphic novels, video games, movies, and almost anything else that can be related to comics. Though it is not as cool as Batman’s Bat-Cave, which has a Batmobile, a supercomputer, memorabilia from villains and sidekicks, and a kick-ass butler named Alfred, M. Deanpool’s Comic-Cave has a MacBook, a personal blogger, and a cave-full of comics, which could count as memorabilia. So that’s like almost three out of four things right? Two and a half?

Anyways the Comic-Cave will be updated often as I will be posting “Character of the Week” which will be character profiles of the particular character that Mr. Deanpool will be gathering intel on for that week. Mr. Deanpool recommends that I should feature both major characters as well as supporting characters or in some cases, villains in a “Most Wanted of the Week.” M. Deanpool adds that he is always looking to add to his collection since new comics are always being published, so tune in weekly to his Weekly Pick-Ups to see what he adds to his impressive collection and of course read what he has to say about them. Also be on the lookout, for Com-Economics where M. Deanpool will give me some tips to post about what comics are valuable and worth adding to anyone’s collection. An example would be if a comic is a key issue, first appearance of a character, death of a character, etc. He says these will be helpful for all types of comic collectors whether you’re new or experienced.

Ultimately, M. Deanpool and I would love for this blog to be a fun read for anyone whether you’re new to reading comics, an average reader, or even someone who’s been reading for years. We’ll try to offer insight that is unique to what is typically out there on other popular reviews and hopefully even persuade some to go out and pick up some of the things I blog about! Thanks for reading, and here's a pic of a cute Lil Deadpool.
