Return of Peter Parker

Another NewsFlash!

Marvel is making a powerplay with the release of so many new on-going series this year. We've already seen All-New X-Factor, Black Widow, and Avengers World (yes another Avengers title) come out with a couple more this month. Add in a new Wolverine and Fantastic Four next month, and though Deanpool is unsure of the exact dates he wanted to also mention that Inhumanity and Silver Surfer will be coming soon as well. Not to mention, Marvel Now is also hyping up their already established series like Guardians of the Galaxy and Superior Spider-Man so expect big things from these issues as well.

Speaking of Spider-Man, it looks like Marvel is coming out ANOTHER series BUT this one will be featuring the return of Peter Parker behind the mask of Spider-Man. Okay technically even in Superior it's Peter Parker's face, but Otto Octavius' mind (hope this isn't a spoiler for anyone since the series is going into their 20-something issue now), but now it's actually Peter Parker's mind in Peter Parker's body doing more traditional Spider-Man things! Last time we saw Peter (other than in the subconscious of Otto Octavius) was Amazing Spider-Man #700 and some readers, Deanpool is one of them, are still a bit upset and not settled into Otto being the new Spider-Man. It was a bold move, and the response of it has gone both ways. Some people, including long-time readers of Spider-Man, enjoyed the new stories from Superior. Others hated this idea and/or disliked the harsh, serious nature of Otto after being accustomed to the web-slinging, slightly immature nature that was Peter Parker. That and other things but this isn't a Review, it's a NewsFlash.

From the picture above you can see that the title will actually be Amazing Spider-Man. Meaning RELAUNCH! Not a #701 or those #700.1-700.5 that came out recently, a new #1 issue with the ASM title. Hard to say much about the cover art, it's quite laughable with that big grin on his face. But it may be reflected in readers everywhere who are eager to get back into reading Spider-Man. Hard to tell if this relaunch will be any good and let's not compare it to the renaissance that's been going on since Batman's relaunch in the New 52, but you can't help but be hopeful. The writer, Dan Slott, has worked with ASM before and also done work on the Superior issues so it won't be his first go around with Peter Parker or Spider-Man. Deanpool is looking forward to it in the coming months, will you?
